Summer Kickoff Party

Kids of all ages enjoyed the Summer Kickoff Party at
Kids America on June 2nd. The event was sponsored by
Time Warner Cable and featured inflatable rides, free hot
dogs, popcorn, soft drinks, and games. Over 400 people
attended the party.

Summer Camps
|
|
Registrations are still being accepted for all summer
camps and activities at Kids America, including next
week's International Xtreme Soccer Camp (June 11-15).
The International Xtreme Soccer Camp features
Manchester United's Gordon Hill and Joe Raduka from
Cleveland United as instructors.
There is also camps for basketball, volleyball, soccer
cheerleading, Kids American Idol Camp, and Summer
Adventures Day Camp throughout the summer.

Shorties Soccer
|
|
Over 60 children are participating in the spring session of
Outdoor Shorties Soccer at Kids America. The final
matches of the season will be played on Saturday, June
9th.
Spring Shorties Soccer sponsors include: Given-Dawson
Funeral Home, Carroll's Buckeye Motors, Echoing Hills
Village, State Farm-Aaron Schmitt, Annin Company, and
the Coshocton County Advertiser.

Girls Basketball Shootout
|
|
Kids America will host it's 2nd Annual Girls Basketball
Shootout on June 16th and 23rd.
The jr. high shootout will take place on June 16th followed
by the high school shootout on June 23d.
Team competing in this year's event include: Coshocton,
River View, Ridgewood, Linden McKinley, Logan,
Newcomerstown, Warren Local, Waterford, East Knox,
Licking Heights, Philo, Caldwell, Eastern Local, Marietta,
Newport, Utica, Indian Valley, West Holmes, and
Maysville.
The shootouts are a cooperative effort between Kids
America and Ohio Express Girls Basketball Club.

Walking Club Awards

|
Members of the Kids America Walking Club will be
recognized on Friday, June 8th at 9:30am.
Individuals reaching a new mileage milestone include:
John Fox (2500 Mile Club), Barb Warren (1000), Carolyn
Richards (500), Vada McVay (250), Frank Owens (250),
Jane Cornett (100), Jane Albert (100), Doris Parkhill
(100), Peter Shults (50), and Helen Wright (50).

KA Scholarships
|
|
|
Kids America is currently accepting scholarship
applications for all upcoming summer camps and
activities.
The "Helping the Kids Play" scholarship fund was
designed to assist children who qualify participate in Kids
America activities.
Qualified applicants are eligible to receive up to $75.00 in
financial assistance per year, per child.

Shorties Track & Field
|
|
|
Lace up the running shoes and break out the Frisbee!
Kids America will host a pair of track & field day events
for kids ages 3 to 7. Shorties Track & Field Days will
take place on Friday, June 8th and Friday, June 22nd at
10am. Both events are open to boys and girls.
Children can choose to compete on one day or both at
Kids America. Registration is $10.00 per child and only
$5.00 for members of Kids America.
Each child will participate in four events including 40-
meter dash, 200-meter run, Frisbee toss, and softball
throw. Call 740.622.6657 to register in advance.
Registrations will also be accepted on the day of the
event.

Summer Hours
|
|
|
During the summer months, Kids America will be open
Monday - Friday 6am to 8pm, Saturday 8am to 6pm
and Sunday Noon to 5pm.
