Spring Activities Kickoff April 14-15
|

Yes, there's still time to signup!
Kids America's spring activities will kickoff the weekend
of April 14th & 15th.
Shorties T-Ball and Kids America Soccer Academy will
begin on Saturday. Sunday afternoon will mark the
start of the 4v4 Soccer League and Middle School
Girls Volleyball.
Registrations are still being accepted for all spring
activities. Call 622.6657 to register by phone or click the

Summer Camps for soccer, basketball, volleyball,
cheerleading, Kids American Idol Camp and the Summer
Adventures Day Camp are also just around the corner.

Senior Showcase a Slam Dunk
|
|
The 4th annual Coshocton Tribune / Kids America Senior
Basketball Showcase was another huge success on
March 25th.
The event featured two all-star games for area seniors
as well as a 3-point shooting and dunk contest.
In the boys game, the North squad picked up their first
win in the series with an 87-70 victory over the South.
In the girls contest, the South prevailed with a 51-47 win
over the North.

Kiwanis Special Olympics
|

Track & Field Day at Kids America
Athletes young and old participated in the Kiwanis
Special Olympics Track & Field Day at Kids America on
March 27th & 29th.
Due to the increased participation, the annual track &
field day was held over a two-day period instead of one.
Over 500 participants, volunteers, and spectators
attended the event.
The Special Olympics was a cooperative effort between
the Coshocton County Board of MRDD, Hopewell
School, Coshocton Kiwanis & Key Club, and Kids
America.

Ronald McDonald House Auction to Benefit KA
|
|
April 24th, 2007
McDonalds Restaurant in Coshocton has selected Kids
America to be a joint recipient of proceeds raised in the
upcoming Ronald McDonald House Auction.
The auction will take place on Tuesday, April 24th at
5:30pm at Coshocton Village Inn & Suites.
Kids America members, patrons, and supporters are
encouraged to donate items for the auction as well as
attend the auction to bid on items April 24th.

Seniors Celebrate the Holiday with Style
|

Coffee Walk & Talk Update
Following his appearance at Early Advantage Preschool
at
Kids America, Peter Cottontail visited with the senior
citizens in attendance at Coffee Walk & Talk on
Wednesday, April 4th.
Each holiday, members and participants of Coffee Walk
& Talk gather for a special time of exercise and
socializing. Attendees bring a covered dish and finger
food to share with others.
Coffee Walk & Talk takes place each Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday from 8am to 10am. Admission
is $1.00 for seniors, $2.00 for visitors, and free to
members of Kids America.

Walking Club to Honor Members
|
|
|
Members of the Kids America Walking Club will be
honored for their achievements at the club’s monthly
awards ceremony on April 13th at 9:30 am in the Austin
Meeting Room at Kids America.
Individuals to be recognized for their walking
achievements include: Marlene Zeigler (3000 Mile Club),
Lorene Schonauer, Irene Croft (2500 Mile Club), Polly
McCann (1000 Mile Club), Joyce Selders (750 Mile
Club), Karen Emerson, Mary Stenner (500 Mile Club),
Frank Owens (150 Mile Club), Jane Cornett, Kay Croll,
Jane Albert, and Christi Selders (50 Mile Club).

Indoor Soccer Shootout Summary
|
|
Premier soccer clubs and traveling teams from across
Ohio competed in Kids America's 2007 Indoor Soccer
Shootout during the month of March.
Cleveland United lead all clubs with 5 divisional
championships and one 2nd place finish. Greater
Akron Premier followed with 1 title and a pair of 2nd
place trophies.
Coshocton area teams took home two championships
with the Strikers claiming the U10 Shootout and the
Pineapple Assassins winning the U14 tournament. The
Blue Sharks took 2nd place in the U10's while the Inferno
finished as the runner-up in the U19 tournament.
